The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.

About the role
This position will provide support to all coders with feedback as indicated through the year. Works to achieve and support the departmental goals. Maintains department productivity, assist with internal QR for quarterly review of coders and provides education/training to further achieve departmental vision. Reviews source documents to determine if there is sufficient data to process. Maintains rapport with providers for all coding questions as needed. Completes physician inpatient and outpatient charges in a timely manner. This role entails performing coding audits to ensure compliance with regulations and to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and data integrity.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma.
+ Required 3-5 years hands on production abstracting or auditing medical records for diagnosis/medical condition coding.
+ RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC desirable. CCA required at minimum.
+ 3M encoder and coding applications experience preferred.
+ Meditech experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Disease Pathology, and Medical Terminology.
+ Conduct audits to monitor coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
