    Qualifications

Senior Electrical Designer – LV/MV Switchgear Systems

We are seeking an experienced electrical designer with 10+ years of experience (or equivalent capabilities) in designing one-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts for low- and medium-voltage (LV/MV) switchgear assemblies. This role plays a key part in creating high-quality designs that comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal best practices—while collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

+ Design and develop one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts for LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, and control panels based on customer specifications, functional requirements, and applicable codes (UL, NEC, etc.).

+ Interpret sales agreements and technical specifications to produce accurate and manufacturable designs.

+ Utilize CAD tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, or SolidWorks Electrical to create and maintain design documentation, libraries, and BOMs.

+ Continuously improve design processes by applying standardization, templates, and productivity-enhancing tools to reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and support cost-effective manufacturing.

+ Participate in cross-functional teams to address design, quality, and manufacturability issues, and support continuous improvement of product development and production processes.

+ Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to support new product development and innovation initiatives.

+ Provide input to project proposals and quoting activities through design sketches, technical concepts, and layout suggestions.

+ Maintain awareness of manufacturing capabilities and integrate that knowledge into design decisions.

+ Support training and mentorship efforts by participating in documentation reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical development activities.

+ Ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.

    Required Skills & Experience:

+ 10+ years of experience designing LV/MV electrical equipment or equivalent technical background.

+ Proficient in creating one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.

+ Experienced in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, or SolidWorks Electrical.

+ Skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

+ Knowledge of switchgear, control panels, and electrical assemblies.

+ Understanding of project timelines, deliverables, and collaboration within an engineering and manufacturing environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

+ Associate’s degree (AAS) in Electrical Engineering Technology or related discipline.

+ Background in wiring assemblies, wire processing, and schematic design.

+ Experience with energy storage, renewables, data centers, or EV charging applications.

+ Ability to interface across electrical, mechanical, and software design disciplines.

    + Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated and team-oriented mindset.
