    The Foster School of Business has an exciting opening for an Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations. This is a full-time permanent position.

     

    The Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations develops and implements strategies for engaging corporate and private foundation partners. The Associate Director directs the fundraising process for corporate gifts, grants and sponsorships. This role partners with faculty and staff in the Foster School of Business and the greater UW to execute fundraising, engagement and stewardship strategies as a collaborative partner.

    What You Will Do:** **Frontline Fundraising (40%)

    • Manage the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporations and foundations by developing or facilitating relationships with those who have the capacity to make major philanthropic gifts, grants, sponsored research and other relevant investments supporting Foster School of Business priorities.

    • Build and sustain long-term partnerships and trust while aligning donor passion and goals with the UW’s.

    • Manage a portfolio of 25-50 corporate prospects, aiming for at least 25 asks per year for gifts greater than $25k.

    • Generate new leads and qualify prospects utilizing research, prospect tracking tools, donor base, faculty networks, staff and fundraising colleagues.

    • Advise internal partners on corporate strategies, pipeline and portfolio building, solicitation and communication.

    • Prepare, review and edit all materials needed to secure and steward donations.

    • Ensure accurate and complete record-keeping and work closely with Foster Advancement Services and greater UW Advancement staff to complete donor acknowledgements.

    Corporate Engagement (40%)

    • Assist programs, centers, and faculty leadership with corporate engagement with attention to internship/job placement, executive education, student professional development, workplace culture and employee resource group connections and alumni engagement.

    • Develop and execute annual engagement plans for core prospects, ensuring goals and outcomes align with internal partners’ needs.

    • Plan and implement strategic corporate events, outreach and storytelling in coordination with Advancement colleagues and internal partners.

    Strategy (15%)

    • Determine and inform corporate strategies for 20 companies, promoting engagement, executive education, student professional development, workplace resource group connections, philanthropic priorities, recruiting and research.

    • Evaluate current funding, recruiting and engagement, and assess and report on progress toward goals regularly.

     

    Special projects and other duties as assigned (5%)** **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

     

    Bachelor’s degree AND at least four years of experience in institutional advancement and/or external relations, with an emphasis on securing major gifts from individuals, corporations or private foundations, preferably in a college or university setting.

     

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **What You Bring:

     

    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and meaningful contributions to creating an inclusive working and learning environment.

    • Success in identifying and personally securing corporate gifts/grants.

    • Demonstrated ability to build, cultivate and steward strong relationships with donors and friends to build and maintain lifelong partnerships and trust while aligning donor interest with institutional goals.

    • Ability to develop strategies, evaluation metrics and feasible timelines for successful project implementation and execution.

    • Strong project management and team leadership experience.

    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases and forms.

    • Reliable transportation for local travel.

    • Ability to travel out-of-state up to two times per year and internationally up to two times per year, to support Foster Advancement programming.

    • Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally for event setup and tear down.
