    Caterpillar Inc. seeks Embedded Software Team Lead at its facility located at 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, IL 61523. Develop, design, implement, test, debug, build and release software for embedded devices and systems. Coordinate software activities, software repositories, and software file build/releasing. Create software requirements by gathering and analyzing client requirements. Determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Organize and prioritize the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation. Identify many possible causes for problems based on prior experience and current research. Work with globally dispersed teams to mitigate cultural and geographical complexities of virtual organizations. Use technical knowledge to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Engage appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues. Mentor others to enhance the technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions. Coach others in promoting, defining, analyzing, and providing superior technical solutions to business problems. Provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues. Assume accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs. Understand the importance of completing tasks despite current circumstances and effectively use available resources. Ensure time, resources, energy, and actions are focused on priorities that matter to the business. Communicate a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and getting work done. Effectively use resources not under own direct control. Knowledge of software product design. Convert market requirements into software product design. Utilize experience with the architecture and design of major or multiple products. Build and release software files for embedded software targets. Describe major software architecture alternatives and considerations. Analyze benefits and drawbacks of specific software designs and architecture. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 10 years of experience as an Embedded Software Developer in the off-high vehicle industry or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) ClearCase; (2) GIT; (3) CANape; (4) CANalyzer; (5) Matlab; (6) Simulink; (7) Embedded C; (8) RTOS; (9) Dspace Control Desk; (10) Python; (11) Trace 32; and (12) J1939.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $132,101.00 - $189,000.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
