POSITION:
Cashco has one opening for a CNC Programmer. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for writing and optimizing CNC programs for the machining of parts, ensuring that the manufacturing process runs smoothly, efficiently, and accurately.
Summary:
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for writing and optimizing CNC programs for the machining of parts, ensuring that the manufacturing process runs smoothly, efficiently, and accurately. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers) and be proficient in CAD/CAM software and generate Autodesk/ Featurcam based programs while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
CNC Program Development & Program Optimization:
• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for machining operations, including milling, turning, and other operations as required.
• Utilize CAM software to generate CNC toolpaths based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Verify that CNC programs comply with all quality, safety, and production requirements before sending them to the shop floor.
• Analyze and optimize CNC programs to ensure maximum efficiency, reducing cycle times, tool wear, and material waste.
• Modify existing programs as needed to improve performance or accommodate design changes.
• Generate machine/tool simulations as a part of the programming process.
Set up & Troubleshooting:
• Assist in the setup and calibration of CNC machines, ensuring tools, fixtures, and workpieces are correctly positioned.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming and machining issues during production, working closely with operators and maintenance staff.
Quality Control & Safety:
• Ensure programs and finished parts meet precise dimensional and surface finish specifications by conducting regular checks using measurement tools.
• Collaborate with quality control and inspection teams to address any part discrepancies or issues.
• Adhere to all company safety standards and guidelines, ensuring that CNC programs and machine setups do not compromise worker safety or machine integrity.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including ISO or ASME specifications.
Documentation, Communication & Continuous Improvement:
• Maintain accurate records of all CNC programs, changes, and revisions for traceability and compliance purposes.
• Communicate effectively with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and any changes to production schedules or processes.
• Stay updated on new technologies, machining techniques, and industry best practices to improve processes and increase productivity.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase throughput.
• Engineering, or a related field a plus.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma is a plus.
• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in manufacturing technology,
environment preferred.
• Experience with a variety of CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, etc.) and understanding of their capabilities.
