    The Opportunity

     

    As a Member Technical Staff at Nutanix, your role will be to handle escalated customer problems on a day-to-day basis as a Sustaining Engineer. You will be a vital part of our mission to maintain Nutanix's high industry standard NPS score by providing excellent engineering assistance alongside our support organization to our valued customers.     About the Team

     

    The Dev-Extension team (“DevEx” for short) at Nutanix is a 60+ person team located primarily in the US and India. They play a crucial role in maintaining a high NPS score by solving and root causing challenging customer problems at a code level. The entire company admires their successes, and they have often been recognized in multiple R&D All Hands. What sets them apart is their commitment to sustaining engineering and their ability to address customer issues efficiently and holistically.

    Your Role

    + Work as a part of an extended engineering team responsible for technical analysis and resolution of complex customer issues in Nutanix Control Plane (backend and frontend)

    + Develop a deep understanding of complex distributed systems and debug customer production clusters in real time

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, propagate the feedback from on-call experience in making products better

    + Design and develop automation tools to debug and provide faster relief to customers

    + Develop and contribute to internal and external knowledge bases for known problems which can affect field deployments

    What You Will Bring

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (Master’s preferred) or related field required with 3-6 years of industry experienceLove of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: C++, Java, Python, Golang

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Hands-on experience in frontend and backend UI development

    + Good understanding of Identity and Access Management

    + Passion for troubleshooting complex distributed systems

    + Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system

    + Team player that works well in fast-paced situations and startup environments

     

    Work Arrangement

     

    Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

     

    The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 128,000 and USD $ 255,600 per year.

     

    However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

     

    If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
