Description We are looking for an experienced Security Network Engineer to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This is a long-term contract position within the transport industry, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the security and efficiency of complex networks. Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network solutions using Cisco architecture and related technologies.

• Diagnose and resolve advanced network issues, ensuring minimal downtime in high-pressure situations.

• Configure and manage firewalls, routers, and other network devices, including Cisco ASA and Checkpoint.

• Utilize automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline network operations.

• Optimize routing protocols like BGP and OSPF to enhance data center networking performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network security aligns with organizational goals.

• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.

• Provide documentation and training to support the ongoing maintenance of network systems.

• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to implement innovative solutions. Requirements • In-depth knowledge of Cisco architecture and networking technologies.

• Strong expertise with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.

• Familiarity with firewalls, including Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, and Fortinet.

• Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE or equivalent experience.

• Solid understanding of authentication and configuration management.
