Position Summary
Set up and operate an individual manual machine tool or several machine tools organized in a work group or cell.
Responsibilities
+ Receives assignment, drawings, process documents and/or verbal instructions.
+ Sets up machines using tools and equipment needed according to standard work instructions and machine requirements.
+ Selects feeds and speeds
+ Performs work to tolerances indicated, checking own parts to insure compliance with quality requirements.
+ Assembles, tests and calibrates fuel injection parts per standard procedure within close tolerances.
+ Performs assembly of other components such as piston skirts, liners, camshafts, etc.
+ May be required to operate two machines simultaneously or perform other miscellaneous duties such as deburring or checking work during machine cycle.
+ Maintains standard work files, fixtures, tooling, etc. Keeps machine clean and performs daily routine maintenance checks.
+ Handles medium weigh materials by hand and heavier materials by hoist or crane.
Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements
+ Proven experience/knowledge in setting up/operating manual machine.
+ Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.
+ Good understanding of quality control principles.
+ Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
+ High school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated.
+ Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
+ Ability to work independently w/minimal supervision.
+ Ability to maintain confidential information.
+ Ability to thrive in a critical thinking environment.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving techniques.
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
