    Job Description:

    The Blake School seeks to hire an Extended Day Program Lead for our Lower School campus in Hopkins for the 2025-26 school year. Blake’s Extended Day program provides after-school supervision, activities and enrichment for students in grades PK-5 and runs daily from 3-6pm. The program lead will provide logistical and operational leadership for the Extended Day and staff childcare programs in our Early Learning Center and Upper Elementary, working closely with Blake’s Lower School Operations Coordinator.

     

    Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes our community strong and empowers students to engage across differences.

    Responsibilities:

    + Create and implement a variety of projects, community-building activities, and enrichment for students in the Extended Day program

    + Track student attendance, including monitoring and responding to drop-in requests, overseeing check-in and check-out for student programs

    + Prepare and maintain billing documents

    + Communicate effectively and frequently with members of the Extended Day team

    + Communicate with the Lower School Operations Coordinator and Enrichment Programs Director to ensure adequate snack and material supply for the program

    + Emphasize the collaborative, creative process of a group experience while also recognizing and supporting individuals’ growth and performance

    + Perform day-to-day duties that support ongoing program operations

    + Participate in professional development opportunities offered by Blake

    + Work entirety of the daily program (3-6pm)

    + Provide supervision for lunch, recess and staff breaks at the Early Learning Center as scheduled by building administrators

    + Assist in planning, staffing and supervising early release and employee childcare on campus

    Application Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree

    + Minimum of 2 years experience with PK-5 students

    + Additional required trainings/conditions of employment include:

    + DHS background study

    + Yearly health and safety training

    + Yearly child development course(s)

    + CPR certification

    + Presentation of transcripts

    Hours, Pay and Benefits

    + $21 - $23 per hour according to years of experience and qualifications

    + 35 hrs/wk (10:30am-6pm)

    + Collaborative working style and strong organizational skills

    + Knowledge of children’s social, emotional, cognitive developmental stages

    + Active listener who honors children’s thoughts, feelings and ideas
