**Waste Connections of Rhode Island** is looking for a safety conscious

Yard Laborer** to join our transfer station in **Portsmouth, RI.

Pay rate:

$23.50 per hour - 50-55 hours per week, Overtime Eligible

Schedule:

Sunday and Wednesday off

Monday/Friday/ Saturday - 7am to 4pm

Tuesday/Thursday - 7am to 7pm

Our priority is to make sure we hire safe labors that care about the safety of our customers and team members. As a transfer station laborer with us the minimum responsibilities are:

+ Operating equipment such as: skid steers and backhoes.

+ Checking trucks in and out of the transfer station and directing traffic at site as necessary.

+ Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable.

+ Perform yard work including cutting weeds.

+ Install temporary wind fences as required.

+ Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work.

+ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

+ Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

+ Interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues.

What we need from you:

+ One year of stable employment history in a similar environment.

+ Valid Driver’s License

+ Ability to work schedule in all weather conditions

+ Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
