    How you will make an impact:

    The Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting the financial planning and analysis efforts of the Laboratory Products Group (LPG). This role will be actively involved in business partnering with the divisions (Equipment, Plastics, and Chemicals), functions (IT, Supply Chain, Legal, etc.) and Corporate, to implement the tactical objectives in support of business reviews, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development, and the strategic planning processes.

    What you will do:

    + Support all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial processes with a focus on variance analysis, modeling, and reporting

    + Assist in the development of the annual operational planning process (AOP) as well as the annual strategic planning process (STRAP)

    + Provide financial insights and recommendations

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams – both internal to LPG and with Corporate (FP&A, Systems, etc.) - to drive reporting accuracy and process efficiency

    + Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures

    + Lead ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned or as self-identified areas for improvement

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    + Strong financial knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting and reporting

    + Exhibit leadership, initiative, and embody Thermo Fisher Scientific's 4-I values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement

    + Strong attention to detail with commitment to providing quality results

    + Ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate information, draw conclusions from data, and benchmark results against appropriate baselines

    + Ability to analyze and communicate variances to management while identifying and implementing operational improvements

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record to convey analysis and presentations clearly to management

    + History of participating in cross-functional teams and building strong interpersonal relationships with peers and partners

    + Ability to balance multiple assignments, exercise good judgment, and prioritize projects and time efficiently

    + Dedication to continuous learning and professional development, seeking opportunities to stretch capabilities

    + Excellent skills with MS Excel, Hyperion Planning (PLN) and CMR; preferred skills with Power BI and COGNOS

     

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Business Administration

     

    Experience: 3+ years of meaningful experience preferred
