    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:The Dental Hygiene Skills Facilitator plays a critical role in supporting the development and remediation of clinical competencies for dental hygiene students. This part-time position provides hands-on assistance and small group workshops focused on radiography, instrumentation technique, periodontal and dental assessments, vital signs, and medical history review. The facilitator helps students reinforce clinical skills outside of formal assessments and grading, fostering confidence and competence through guided practice.

     

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Conduct Clinical Skills Workshops

    + Provide One-on-One Skill Remediation

    + Identify Skill Gaps During Sessions

    + Collaborate with Program Faculty

    + Promote Ergonomics and Safe Practice

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education Required:

    Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor’s preferred).

    Experience Required:

    + Three years of recent professional experience in clinical practice as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

    + Education background must include course work in educational methodology and pedagogy.

    + Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

     

    Additional Information

    INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

    Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
