    SUMMARY

    The Process Engineering Technician supports plant safety, product quality, manufacturing/prototype order on-time delivery, and continuous improvement projects within their assigned area of responsibility. The role requires strong collaboration and organizational skills.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Participate in value stream team, productivity, product quality, safety, and waste meetings/projects within area of responsibility

    + Understand and interpret product/work order requirements, product inspection techniques and test procedures

    + Compile, analyze, and summarize process data

    Engineering Technician I

     

    0-3 years

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1-year of CIT DSC Technician experience or Lead OJT

    **OR** High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1-year external industrial environment technician job experience

    **OR** AA/AAS degree, no technician job experience required

    SPECIFIC COMPETENCY

    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

    • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

    • Ability to apply algebraic and statistical tools for analysis of product and process

    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures

    • Ability to use of MS Office software including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

    • Ability to use project management tools such as a charter and Smartsheet

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    + Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

    + Frequently required to stand and walk

    + Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

    + Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

    + Specific vision abilities required, i.e. close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

    This is an air-conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat. The following are potential items encountered: fumes, dust, noise, hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations.

    PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

    ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toed shoes and clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job.
