Job Description

Our Aviation Guard plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of airport facilities, staff, and passengers. This position involves conducting security duties for everyone on airport property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and patrolling airport premises to prevent any unauthorized or suspicious activities. You will also be responsible for responding to security breaches and emergency situations, ensuring compliance with airport regulations and procedures. Excellent observational skills, strong communication abilities, and a calm demeanor under pressure are essential for this role, along with a thorough understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS AN AVIATION GUARD

+ You like working as a team, toward a common goal

+ Provide leadership and guidance required to perform assigned tasks

+ Guard the jet bridge to the aircraft ensuring no unauthorized entrance

+ Abide by all airport and security rules and regulations in challenging suspicion individuals and those not wearing an unescorted SIDA identification badge

+ Report all suspicious individuals and articles immediately as directed

+ You are detail oriented and driven to safety

+ Enjoy working in a busy environment

+ Prefer having varied responsibilities that will change throughout the workday

+ Understand the importance of working varied hours including holidays so that our customers’ needs are met

+ Driven to quality performance and detail oriented

+ Complying with company policies and procedures and rules and regulations

+ Physical activity may include:

+ Stand and walk for extended periods of time

+ Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

+ Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

+ Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

+ Minimum age of 18 years old

+ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

+ 6 months of experience in Security

+ Comfortable working with safety equipment

+ Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

+ Ability to pass a drug screen

+ Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
