Required Skills:

Software Engineer (Systems) Responsibilities:

1. Research, design, develop, build and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for large distributed components that run applications.

2. Build new features and improve existing products.

3. Work on problems of large scope and scale.

4. Design, develop, and implement architecture and infrastructure that align with the company's strategic goals and customer needs to ensure the ease of overall user experience.

5. Scaling application infrastructure for billions of users using various cloud infrastructure tools.

6. Improve the overall security of infrastructure systems and mobile applications, as well as the performance and user-experience of applications and platforms, through the review of user feedback and server maintenance requests.

7. Lead and participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define and achieve project objectives on various user platforms like Android, iOS or similar.

9. Mentor junior software engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and development.

10. Push code, drive the development of the systems behind our products, create web applications that reach billions of people, build high volume servers, and be a part of a team to connect people around the globe.

11. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product areas, codebase, and/or systems.

12. Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering.

13. Design algorithms and data paths to maintain the security of user data.

14. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.

15. Conduct code reviews and ensure that all software solutions adhere to industry best practices and company standards.

16. Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.

17. Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.

18. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring that our software products are reliable and performant.

19. Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with company Performance Philosophy.

20. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation within the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field and 48 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 48 months of experience involving the following:

22. 1. Proficiency in one of the following industry standard languages: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript

23. 2. Python, PHP, or Haskell

24. 3. Database design and management, including SQL and NoSQL databases

25. 4. Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform or similar

26. 5. Data path modeling, authoring algorithms and user data security maintenance

27. 6. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

28. 7. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead development projects and work collaboratively in a team environment

29. 8. Building large-scale infrastructure applications

30. 9. Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees

31. 10. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting

$206,315/year to $214,568/year + bonus + equity + benefits
