Description:

Position Purpose:

Serve as a key part of our patient care team providing daily cares.

This position is for any acute** **care/medical-surgical** **areas at the Waterloo Medical Center location.

Areas include:

2 General: Cardiac/Nephrology Unit

3 General: Post Surgical Unit

4 General: Orthopedics/Neurology Unit

All unit colleagues will float depending on patient census.

What you will Do:

+ Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.

+ Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care.

+ Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals.

+ Performs unit-based functions as assigned.

Hours/Schedule:

_12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation_

_Night shift; 6:45pm - 7:15am_

Minimum** **Qualifications:

Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following:

+ Nurse Aide I course

+ Nursing Fundamentals course

+ Nurse Aid Competency Test.

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
