Position: **Test Engineer**
Department: Quality Department
Primary Objective of Position
A Test Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Test Floor activities that support the production of large, multi-million-dollar electric motors and generators.
Major Areas of Accountability:
+ Develop and implement continuous improvement projects to improve safety and efficiency.
+ Research product and process related technology advancements and create training material for any that are implemented.
+ Provide troubleshooting assistance and technical support when needed.
+ Create test plans, develop test procedures, and organize the resources required to complete the testing.
+ Self-sufficiently interpret design, specification and verification data to establish and document compliance of product to customer expectation.
+ Crate and maintain company quality documentation such as Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, and Process Specifications.
+ Create, and/or approve Test reports to capture results of testing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Basic electrical technical skills with a desire to gain broad electrical motor experience including safety, controls, programming, design, verification and compliance with standards such as NEMA, IEEE, API, and ISO.
+ Excellent communication and writing skills required for presentation, reporting and training activities, with the ability to participate or lead multi-discipline teams in continual improvement programs.
+ Ability and willingness to learn test floor programs, software, and hardware, that is both mechanical and electrical.
+ Good problem-solving skills with the aptitude to think out of the box.
Education and Experience:
+ Degree in Electrical Engineering field is required.
+ Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
+ Prior experience with LabVIEW, PLCs, and data acquisition programming desired.
+ Prior experience with vibration analysis strongly desired.
Physical Requirements
+ Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities. This requires climbing stairs and moving over, around, and about shop machinery.
+ Have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds unassisted.
+ Physical ability to travel via public, commercial or personal transportation.
+ Must be able to legally drive a vehicle in the US.
+ Must be able to travel internationally.
Salary Range
$70,000 to $80,000
