Seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant!

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $15-$18/ hr

VCA Becker Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our upbeat, compassionate team! We’re a 2-doctor, AAHA-accredited small animal practice just outside Birmingham, AL, focused on personalized care for dogs and cats.

Our hours are Monday through Friday 7am - 6pm, Saturdays 7am - 12pm, closed Sundays.

About the Role

As Veterinary Assistant, you will help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and clients. Duties will include:

+ Compassionate patient care

+ Client education and care

+ Venipuncture and catheter placement

+ Radiology and diagnostics

+ Lab sample collection and processing

+ Surgical preparation and assisting

+ Dentistry

+ Medication preparation and administration

+ Safe and effective patient handling and restraint

+ Medical recordkeeping
