EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Senior Microsoft Architect and Administrator** in our **Hughes Network Systems division** . This position will be located at our headquarters in **Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
+ Evaluate new technologies to present and gain consensus to improve efficiency, productivity, security, and cost.
+ Architect and implement enterprise-level solutions using Microsoft technologies to meet business objectives.
+ Evaluate, recommend/present, and gain consensus on forward-looking systems based on in-house infrastructure while incorporating scalable and efficient practices.
+ Recommend, present, and gain consensus on solutions leveraging cloud technologies, primarily Azure, in addition to integrating services from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
+ Provide advanced technical expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365. Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud environments with a strong focus on security, scalability, reliability, and cost.
+ Formulate an access policy for secure access of in-house and cloud resources for the team, incorporating best practices followed by industry.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect, design, and implement suitable solutions in line project management standards.
+ Recommend processes and procedures to optimize system cost and performance in both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
+ Collaborate with the operational support team to develop and document best practices.
+ Mentor and provide training opportunities on the areas of expertise.
+ Assess and recommend solutions for disaster recovery and ransomware protection/recovery options.
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent education and experience
+ 8 years of experience in Microsoft technologies, including; Active Directory, Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
+ 3 years of experience in Microsoft Azure to include: Infrastructure design, Deployment and Service Management
+ 3 years of experience in Identity Management to include: Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Entra (AAD), Okta and SailPoint
+ 3 years of experience designing scalable and resilient IT systems.
+ 2 years of experience in Hybrid Cloud Integration to include: Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Wed Services (AWS)
+ 2 years of automation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with ITIL v3 or v4 best practices and service management methodologies.
+ Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
+ Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar Cloud certifications from AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or GCP (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect).
+ Advanced knowledge on secure access policy in cloud. Experience in formulating the secure access policy for organization.
+ Strong skills in networking, virtualization, storage solutions, and enterprise security practices.
+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with complex IT systems.
+ Familiarity with application security with Zscaler’s zero trust model including ZPA and ZIA.
+ Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, or Jenkins.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across multiple teams and presentation skills
+ Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
+ Previous experience in a leadership role or mentoring a technical team.
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
