    Job Summary:

    The mission of SUNY Upstate Medical University is to improve the health of the communities we serve through Education, Biomedical Research, and Health Care. Beyond our downtown campus, we provide care through our clinics and offices across the greater Syracuse area.

     

    In support of our ongoing growth we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider to join the regions Level 1 Trauma Center and American Burn Association Verified Burn Center.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Primary responsibility will be to conduct outpatient Burn Surgery Clinic encounters at the Downtown campus.

    + Perform occasional first assist coverage in the operating room as well as inpatient floor and ICU rounding.

    + Assess and evaluate patients, order and interpret laboratory tests & diagnostic studies, and arrange referrals, consultations, and therapeutic services.

    + Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team.

     

    As an APP, you will be an integral member of the Burn Surgery multidisciplinary healthcare team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Master’s Degree as a Physician Assistant (or graduated from an accredited PA program) or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA, or eligible by time of appointment.

    + Current NYS Licensure or Registration as a PA or NP

    + Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.

    + Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire)

    + CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in a surgical subspecialty

    + Operating room experience as an APP

    + Pediatric experience

    Work Days:

    Monday-Friday Days, with possible rotation into Weekends and Holidays
