The Office of Professional Development (OPD), a unit within SUNY Oswego's Division of Extended Learning, is dedicated to empowering adult learners and advancing professional and career development throughout the region. Through dynamic training programs, community collaborations, and responsive educational initiatives, OPD delivers high-impact learning experiences that equip individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in today's evolving professional environment.

The Division of Extended Learning at the State University of New York at Oswego and the Research Foundation for SUNY invites applications to fill a full-time Training & Professional Development Facilitator.

Description of Responsibilities:
The Training & Professional Development Facilitator plays a key role in delivering, organizing, and supporting professional development programs offered by the Office of Professional Development, within the Division of Extended Learning. This position oversees the operational logistics of training events, facilitates courses on core areas of management and leadership, delivers in-person and online instruction in a variety of formats, and ensures efficient execution across all stages of program delivery. Working closely with the Associate Director, this role ensures that programming is executed to a high standard, aligns with educational best practices, and supports institutional and community goals.
+ Develop, deliver, and facilitate training sessions in a variety of formats (in-person, online, hybrid), incorporating adult learning principles.
+ Design curriculum and materials that reflect current best practices in education, align with agency values, and promote leadership, ethics, and inclusion.
+ Oversee the logistics of leadership and supervisory training certification programs, including scheduling, instructor and client communications, site preparation, supply coordination, and evaluation distribution.
+ Assist in reviewing and selecting consultants/vendors for contract awards and maintain related procurement documentation.
+ Ensure curriculum and training materials meet current standards in adult education and align with professional development objectives.
+ Support program evaluation efforts, analyze participant feedback, and contribute to program improvements.
+ Maintain and update program websites and social media accounts, including content development, engagement monitoring, and promotional posting.
+ Provide support for the Leadership Oswego County program, including recruitment communications, session logistics, recordkeeping, and inventory management.
+ Collaborate with colleagues across the Division of Extended Learning to support shared program operations and objectives.
+ Provide operational support for programs and training initiatives offered by the Office of Professional Development.
+ Provide support to fellow training team members to help meet program goals while maintaining a high standard of service.
+ Partner with the Administrative Assistant to ensure timely and effective execution of administrative responsibilities.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience coordinating training or educational programs for adult learners or in a professional setting.
+ 1-3 years of demonstrated success delivering in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, or curriculum.
+ 1-3 years of management or supervisory experience.
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations or training sessions in-person and online.
+ Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
+ Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams), and social media or content management systems.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
+ Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to travel throughout New York State, including overnight, and occasionally work evenings or weekends. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in higher education, continuing education, or professional development environments.
+ 3+ years' experience effectively and successfully coordinating training, professional development, or related programming.
+ Ability to promote leadership, community stewardship, and civic engagement through training programs.
+ Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, or training assessment.
+ Background in delivering or coordinating programs that support leadership development or civic engagement.
+ Knowledge of SUNY policies, contract-funded program requirements, or public agency contract management.
