Senior Software Engineer, Services Engineering (Multiple Openings)

What You'll Do at Pega:

+ Design, develop, deploy, and operate core runtime services with a key focus on distributed/cloud computing, concurrency, and performance for our cloud native runtime engine and its services.

+ Engage and communicate with internal stakeholders including cloud operations and applications teams.

+ Engage in platform level design and prototyping work to identify and define future functionalities.

+ Take part in the process of refining, clarifying, and turning high level platform business domain problems into technical solution and architecture.

+ Continuously improve, refine, and refactor the code base and configuration tools. Mentor new team members or interns as part of on boarding.

What You've Accomplished:

+ Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study, and

+ Requires 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving software development, including object-oriented design, debugging, unit testing, and continuous integration.

+ Will accept Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.

+ Experience specified must include 5 years of experience (or 2 years of experience, if Master’s degree) with each of the following:

+ Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); and

+ Algorithms and data structures.

+ Experience specified must include 2 years of experience with each of the following:

+ Enterprise software development in Kotlin or Core Java;

+ Working on a Scrum team; and

+ Distributed systems concepts including security, scalability, resiliency and consistency.

+ Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.

+ Must live within normal commuting distance of Pegasystems Inc.’s office in Waltham, MA.
