    The Opportunity with McKinstry

     

    We are adding a **HR Technology Senior Leader** to our growing Human Resources division in Seattle, WA. As the HR Technology Senior Leader you will lead the end-to-end design, enhancement, and integration of our enterprise HR technology ecosystem, with a primary focus on Workday (HRIS). You will act as a systems architect, implementation strategist, and trusted advisor, ensuring our people technology stack aligns with the long-term strategic direction of the business and supports a high-quality employee (user) experience. You will manage complex system initiatives and projects across Workday and other HR platforms (e.g., ATS, LMS), provide architectural guidance, oversee project delivery, and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (within HR and IT) to shape and execute a modern, scalable, and integrated people technology landscape. . Additional responsibilities include:

     

    + Serve as the principal architect of our HR technology ecosystem, with deep responsibility for Workday configuration, governance, and integration.

    + Lead strategic HR technology projects end-to-end – from business requirements to system design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

    + Provide architectural leadership and technical oversight across all HR systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and future-state capabilities.

    + Collaborate with stakeholders and IT partners to proactively identify solutions that improve data flows, system efficiency, user experience, and platform scalability.

    + Stay current on emerging HR technologies and trends, particularly around AI and automation, offering innovative ideas and insights that drive continuous improvement.

    What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

    + 7+ years of experience in HR technology with deep Workday configuration and architecture expertise.

    + Demonstrated success implementing and integrating HR systems (e.g., Workday, ATS, LMS), with strong project leadership skills.

    + Proven experience translating functional HR needs into technical system design and implementation strategies.

    + Broad understanding of enterprise architecture principles, system interoperability, and data governance.

    + Experience managing technology roadmaps, assessing vendor platforms, and leading cross-functional initiatives.

    + Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, HR Technology, or related discipline—or equivalent experience.

    + Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

    + Bonus: Familiarity with emerging HR tech trends, such as AI-driven tools, self-service automation, and digital workflows.

    T _he pay range for this position is $157,900- $240,100 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered._
