We will empower you to lead, develop deep expertise, and find new approaches to solving the toughest challenges.

    Position Overview:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Events team seeks an entrepreneurial person to join us. Producing hundreds of meetings and events each year, the Chamber convenes corporate executives, small business owners, government officials, and international dignitaries to create meaningful and productive dialogue in support of business’ critical role in a healthy democracy. The manager will lead the planning and execution of a dedicated portfolio of events, ranging from intimate salon dinners to large-scale summits and conferences on behalf of the Chamber’s mission and internal client goals.

    Responsibilities:

+ Conceptualize and implement a wide range of Chamber programs, from virtual broadcasts to multiday CEO retreats to thought leadership tentpoles to executive meetings.

+ Manage project-wide deliverables through cross-functional collaboration, day-to-day communications across internal stakeholders, and day of execution.

+ For in-person events, oversee the logistics of vendor and venue management and setup.

+ For virtual events, lead the development of the agenda and run of show in accordance with broadcast best practices.

+ Collaborate with program producers, creative directors, and AV engineers on show logistics and production and take the lead on operationalizing and delivering the vision.

+ Support audience communications and external marketing and promotion, ensuring that the audience experience is prioritized in developing the event.

+ Partner with sales and client managers to deliver outsize value to our sponsors and event partners through creating opportunities for sponsor activations and connections with the audience.

+ Manage and collaborate with vendor, venues, and production partners by setting a clear vision for the event and communicating expectations around budget, deliverables, and deadlines.

+ Partner with internal clients and colleagues to encourage innovation, share best practices, deliver success and ROI, and build new opportunities to showcase the Chamber’s best-in-class convening power.

+ Ensure that all project teams use, maintain, and continually improve the Chamber’s knowledge management systems and protocols.

+ Contribute to the growth of program content through consulting on format, multimedia extensions, and topic and speaker identification.

+ Meet or exceed budgetary goals through strong negotiations and creative and cost-effective solutions.

+ Partner with the Event Operations team on essential venue management, including scheduling, event booking management, and running operations meetings.

    Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant media, corporate events, or hospitality experience.

+ Effective communication and presentation skills and the ability to forge strong, trusting relationships with clients.

+ Meticulous attention to detail and superior organization.

+ Ability to manage complex and fast-changing portfolios of work and prioritize effectively in response.

+ Creative and strategic thinking with emphasis on customer service to meet clients’ objectives.

+ Strong negotiating, contracting, and budgeting skills.

+ An entrepreneurial spirit and a track record showing initiative and ownership of work.

+ Proficiency with collaboration tools like SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Full events life cycle program and project management experience strongly preferred.
