    The Opportunity:

    Join our team as a Senior Technical Writer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, working on an exciting government project. You'll collaborate with the ESI division, interfacing with customers, contractors, and the Branch Chief to create high-quality documentation for strategic weapon systems.

    Responsibilities:

    + Produce clear, concise technical documents including reports, briefings, white papers, and user manuals

    + Interpret and apply security classification guidelines and portion marking

    + Create and update document templates based on stakeholder requirements

    + Engage with subject matter experts to enhance understanding of complex topics

    + Maintain document tracking systems and monitor deliverable statuses

    + Mentor other writers to improve their skills and efficiency

    + Attend design reviews and meetings, occasionally representing the client

    Qualifications:

    + B.S./B.A. plus five years of experience or nine years of experience in lieu of degree

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills

    + Excellent organizational and time management abilities

    + Attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills

    + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments

    + Interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with coworkers and customers

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

    _Required:_

    + Experience in technical writing, editing, and formatting for government or defense projects

    + Knowledge of relevant style guides and documentation best practices

    + Familiarity with creating user manuals, training materials, and system specifications

    + Understanding of strategic weapon systems documentation

    + Active secret security clearance

    _Desired:_

    + Experience with security classification and portion marking

    + Expertise in translating business specifications into user documentation

    + Knowledge of programming and systems operation documentation • Willingness to travel occasionally for overnight trips

    The proposed salary range for this position is:

    $67,800 - 142,200 USD
