Summary:
At Meta Reality Labs, we're building tools to help people feel connected anywhere, anytime. As an Electrical Engineer on our Research team, you'll design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for future consumer experiences. You'll work cross-functionally with experts in mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and research to explore new concepts through fast iterative prototyping.We're looking for system or board-level Electrical Engineers with experience in high-volume consumer products or developing technology-leading prototypes. You should have expertise in designing mixed-domain circuit boards, troubleshooting at the board level, and familiarity with consumer product development processes.In this role, you'll work with emerging technologies across the AR/VR space, collaborating with industry leaders to create world-class consumer virtual, augmented, and mixed reality hardware. Your responsibilities will span circuit simulation and modeling, component selection, schematics capture, layout design/supervision, as well as system startup and debugging - all requiring expertise in scripting and embedded software interaction. Solid communication and interpersonal skills are required to succeed in our dynamic cross-functional team.

Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Own electrical development of highly complex subsystems or moderately complex systems under the direction of a technical lead
2. Design schematics, direct board layout, conduct design reviews and draft design documentations
3. Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate new technologies and components. Propose innovative solutions to enhance product performance and functionalities
4. Hands-on board bring up and debug, support manufacturing and assembly build, using state-of-the-art laboratory and tools
5. Establish and conduct collaborations with internal and external technology partners and vendors
6. Apply novel engineering solution to challenging power, size, and thermal requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

7. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field
8. 3+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in consumer electronics or equivalent high volume industry
9. Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals as well as experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent
10. Experience with electrical lab equipment (oscilloscopes, probes, logic analyzers...)
11. Experience designing, measuring and debugging low and high speed communication interfaces, such as I2C, UART, SPI, MIPI, USB and PCIe

12. MS degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
13. 6+ years of industry experience in electrical design
14. Experience with power supply design and DC/DC converters
15. Experience with basic programming skills in languages such as Python or Matlab, including data analysis, scripting, and automation
16. Experience in analog and digital design simulation
17. Experience in display electrical subsystem design, testing, and system integration
18. Experience with sensors, such as cameras, lidars, proximity sensors, microphones, IMUs, and depth sensors
19. Experience of designing electrical systems with very hard power, weight, thermal and compute constraints
20. Experience with EMI and ESD risks and mitigation techniques
21. Experience with battery-powered low-power systems
Public Compensation:
$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
