Description:

+ This is a Non-RN IBCLC position that supports the Trinity Health Ann Arbor the Postpartum unit.

+ This position is a contingent position, requiring 16 hours per 6-week schedule. Shifts will be on days or evenings.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

+ The main clinical focus is assisting mothers and babies to breastfeed successfully.

+ The CLC functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team.

+ Effectively communicates patient breastfeeding status, priority goals and interventions to colleagues and other disciplines through written (Lactation Assessment) and verbal methods.

+ Responds to and documents outside calls requesting breastfeeding information and support.

+ Assists breastfeeding mothers with infants in Pediatrics, the NICU, Labor and Delivery (L&D) and other SJMH units, in addition to the Mother Baby unit.

+ Works with the health care team to develop feeding plan and discharge planning related to breastfeeding plans.

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS

+ Certification/Licensure: International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant

+ The Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) is a health professional, who has obtained International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners certification (IBLCE).

+ Experience: The CLC is experienced with working with women and their newborns throughout the perinatal period.

+ Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
