    M-F Days CT/Xray/MR (Will Train MR)

     

    Provides computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

     

    Reports to: Director Diagnostic Services and Imaging Supervisor

     

    Reviews patient history and physician's orders.

    Investigate and verify any implant is safe to be scanned in the MRI scanner - Zone IV

    Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

    When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

    Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

    Prepares equipment and supplies.

    Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.

    Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

    Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).

    Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.

    Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and

    repeating procedure.

    Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

     

    *Minimum Education*

    Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program - Required

    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    Certifications:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved American Heart Association or American Red Cross training center must be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire

    Licenses:

    Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) (CT) (MR).

    Registry Eligible New Hire; Cross-training staff or Transfer staff who are registered ARRT technologists will be considered and must acquire valid CT and MR registration within 12 months of hire or transfer date.
