    Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking an entry-level Project Engineer/Project Coordinator to assist Project Managers in daily operations. You will be assigned to manage 2-3 projects concurrently, focusing on rough and finished carpentry, millwork, and metal studs. Our work involves significant interior renovations for K-12 school districts and various commercial buildings, with project values ranging from $500K to $3 million.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist Project Managers in project documentation and reporting.

    + Handle RFIs, change orders, submittals, budgets, estimates, costs, and make adjustments to schedules as needed.

    + Coordinate project scheduling, budgeting, and administrative tasks.

    + Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.

    + Manage project change orders, including creation and negotiation between Project Manager and Owner.

    + Facilitate project logistics, such as organizing meetings, conference rooms, and conference calls.

    + Log daily materials used, status on job site, and order new materials as necessary.

    + Learn and apply the use of Edge, PlanGrid, and Viewpoint.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator for a company specializing in carpentry or a general contractor.

    + Proficiency in construction management, document control, and project coordination.

    + Experience with RFIs, change orders, submittals, budgeting, estimation, and project reporting.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Background in carpentry or skilled trade, particularly in millwork or woodworking.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule starts at 7 AM, with an average of 40-50 hours per week, and no weekends. You will spend approximately 85% of your time in the office and 15% in the field for site visits with the Project Manager. Our office is modern and equipped with the latest technology, providing a collaborative and team-oriented environment. The office features a spacious lobby with a view of the millwork shop, a kitchen with granite counters, and shared office space with two other Project Managers.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $31.25/hr.
