Function of Position:

To monitor the music lab so students may use the lab when not in class as well as the usage of lab equipment to prevent misplacement and misuse (MCC's Code of Conduct for Users of Computer Systems). To straighten out the lab so it is neat and ready for the next class in the room. To report any problems or issues to the lab administrator.

This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

To help students learn and assist them in the operation of the devices, hardware and software in the music lab. Monitor usage of lab equipment to prevent misplacement and misuse (MCC's Code of Conduct for Users of Computer Systems). To help maintain the music lab as a clean and safe facility. To gain greater knowledge of the music application Logic Pro, Mac computers and the other software and music equipment in the labs such as the piano keyboards. To learn how to use the software on the computers to record the notes played on the keyboard, not with sound but with music notation

Required Qualifications:

+ Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Pay Rate: $15.50/hour

Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/week
