    Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Cancer Program Coordinator

     

    As a Cancer Program Coordinator at MercyOne, you will coordinate cancer program activities and implementation. Ensures cancer program compliance with accreditation standards. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne

    Schedule:

    + Full time 40 hours

    + Day shift

    General Requirements:

    + Coordinates Cancer Program accreditation.

    + Acts as the contact person between the cancer program and ACOS.

    + Reviews current standards outlined by ACOS.

    + Ensures compliance with standards.

    + Coordinates application and re-accreditation processes.

    + Facilitates cancer program activities.

    + Prepares agenda for cancer committee meetings.

    + Facilitates cancer program steering committees.

    + Works with cancer committee members, oncologists, and departments with cancer related activities to develop cancer program goals.

    + Acts as a facilitator to bring together key participants in cancer program goal implementation.

    + Represents MercyOne Northeast Iowa for cancer related community health education and promotion.

    + Coordinates and implements community health program/education/activities for cancer related patient populations.

    + Assists with liaison activities between MercyOne and local health organizations that serve cancer related patient populations.

    + Public speaking as requested as it pertains to education or event activities.

    + Serves on task forces, committees and teams as requested.

    + Acts as a resource for cancer information.

    + Coordinates cancer-screening programs.

    + Works with Community Health Coordinator, MercyOne providers, local health organizations, and/or community organizations to assess need for specific cancer screening programs.

    + Oversees development and implementation of cancer screening programs.

    + Works with Community Health Coordinator and organizes planning of screening events including logistics, promotion, and recruitment of participants.

    + Reports screening program outcomes.

    + Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.

    + Attends required safety programs.

    + Appropriately and consistently uses the personal protective equipment required of the job.

    + Knows and can demonstrate departmental emergency procedures for fire, disaster and other emergency situations.

    + Reports and removes unsafe equipment/furniture.

    + Asks for assistance when needed to assure safety for all involved.

    + Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.

    + Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

    Education:

    + BSN or BA in Health Education, Health Promotion, or Health Management preferred.

    + Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other oncology related medical program.

    + Licensure or certification in accordance with education. Oncology nursing certificate preferred.

    + Minimum of 2 years oncology related clinical experience.

    + High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability.

    + Personal computer.

    + Ability to work with diverse group of people.
