    Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. We work every day for a fair and just society where all people have the opportunity to make choices that lead to better lives for themselves and their families. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.

     

    Position Summary: The Health and Human Service Manager at the Isaacs Center's Education and Workforce (EDWF) program is a key leadership role responsible for providing strategic oversight of the Health and Human Services sector. Collaborating closely with the Engagement and Success team, this position is tasked with creating and managing sector focused partnerships, budget creation/ management for $500 thousand dollars annually. Oversee employment specialists, Program aide and business developer. Who will be charged with creating and executing workshops tailored to the health and human services sectors. Additionally, the incumbent will play a crucial role in devising a comprehensive strategy to engage employment and training partners, as well as residents within the Isaacs/Holmes NYCHA development and surrounding communities.

     

    Schedule:Monday - Friday (35 hours a week)

     

    Salary Range:$65,000 - $72,000

     

    Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

    Role, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

     

    Program Leadership and Strategic Partnerships

     

    + Provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight of the Health and Human Services sector within the Isaacs Center's Education and Workforce (EDWF) program.

    + Collaborate with the Engagement and Success team to align sector objectives with the overarching goals of the organization, including sector-based training.

    + Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships within the health and human services sector to enhance program impact.

    + Act as a liaison between the EDWF program and external partners, ensuring collaborative efforts and mutual success.

    + Establish and maintain partnerships that propel the mission forward, such as JobsFirst, DYCD, CUNY, 1199, and suitable training partners.

     

    Financial Management

     

    + Oversee the management of a $500 thousand annual budget in collaboration with the Director of Engagement and Success, developing and implementing financial strategies to optimize resource allocation within the Health and Human Services sector.

    + Monitor budget performance, proactively identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and strategic investments to enhance program outcomes.

     

    Team Leadership and Development

     

    + Provide management of an employment specialist and a program assistant.

    + Offer leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

     

    Workshop Development

     

    + Collaborate with the team to create and execute workshops tailored to the unique needs of the health and human services sectors.

    + Ensure workshops are relevant, engaging, and contribute to the continuous professional development of participants, securing outside field experts when necessary

     

    Data Monitoring, Evaluation, and Compliance

     

    + Implement robust mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the impact of the Health and Human Services sector programs.

    + Utilize data insights to refine strategies, ensuring program success and alignment with the evolving needs of participants and the community.

    + Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements in the health and human services field.

    + Prepare and submit regular reports on program performance, outcomes, and any necessary documentation.

     

    Stakeholder Collaboration and Representation

     

    + Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.

    + Represent the EDWF program in relevant forums and meetings, fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders.

    + Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to engage employment and training partners within the health and human services sector.

    + Strategically connect with residents within the Isaacs/Holmes NYCHA development and surrounding communities to encourage community involvement in program initiatives.

     

    Client Engagement and Support

     

    + Develop engagement strategies to manage participant development and job placements.

    + Track data and participant progress using Salesforce.

    + Create and implement recruitment and retention plans for SYEP and CNA programs.

     

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

     

    + Education

    + Associates degree, Bachelors preferred

    + Experience

    + Must have 1-2 years professional experience in an office setting, high degree of attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and clients

    + Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in community organizing and working with young adults (16-24) and older.

    + Experience with building and maintaining essential partnerships

    + Thorough knowledge: A thorough understanding of the innerworkings of the Health & Human Services industry and budget management

     

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

     

    + Ability to work outdoors, weather permitting

    + Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.

    + May require light physical effort/lifting, up to 20 pounds of promotional materials/equipment

    + May be required to work weekends/nights at special events

    + Some travel required within the five boroughs for meetings and site visits
