Join our dynamic team as a Quality Assurance Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of smart home devices with Alexa. You'll be at the forefront of enhancing the Alexa GUI and Voice experience, providing customers with intuitive and efficient ways to interact with their homes. Your work will directly contribute to making homes smarter and more connected.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases to ensure software quality.
- Utilize black box, gray box, and white box testing techniques to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Software Development Engineers to understand and test new features.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create test plans and test suites that reflect real-world usage.
- Drive the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies.
A day in the life
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, your day will be filled with diverse and engaging tasks. You'll collaborate with Software Development Engineers to understand new features and technical implementations. You'll also work closely with Product Management, User Experience Design, and Customer Support to develop comprehensive test plans and test suites that mirror real-world environments. Your role will involve debugging, writing automated tests, and ensuring that our software meets the highest quality standards.

Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience
- Experience programmatically testing products, measuring test coverage, developing the best automation, driving testability and diagnostic
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
- 4+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience
- Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language, preferably Java or Python

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
