    JOB SUMMARY

    The In Home Supports Manager is:

    Responsible for the management of the In-home supports program. Directs staff to ensure that the program complies to all LARC, DDS, DSS, Social security, Housing Authority and any other supporting agencies policies and procedures. Works with the Director of Residential Supports to ensure fiscal compliance. Develops program goals and assists the Team in evaluating the services provided to individuals served.

    Duties include, but not limited to:

    + Ensures that all individual’s entitlements are current. Coordinate all reporting requirements, document and maintain consistent DDS, DSS, Social Security, etc. policies and procedures in accordance with the state of Connecticut and Federal government.

    + Ensure that staff meet the necessary reporting requirements for DDS and DSS waiver programs.

    + Maintain ABI and DDS waiver billing as well as submission of monthly billing in EVV System.

    + Interface with members of the public and individual family members in a manner which encourages professionalism and mutual respect.

    + Act as an active member of appropriate team(s) as necessary.

    + Communicates information as required to families, guardians, outside providers and the Director of Residential Supports.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    + SUPERVISION EXERCISED

     

    Works with the Director of Residential Supports on interviewing and hiring employees. Directly supervises, assigns, and directs work, appraises performances, rewards, and disciplines employees, addresses complaints, and resolves problems with consultation of the Director of Residential Supports.

     

    + Education/Professional Requirements:

    + Two years college education from an accredited college in Human Services, or related field of study, or equivalent experience. HS Diploma or GED with substantial work experience may be considered in lieu of a college education.

    + Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the I/DD field, preferably in a licensed DDS Residential setting

    + Minimum of 3 years’ Supervisory experience

    + Obtain and/or maintain CPR/ PMT/ First Aid certification and DDS medication administration certification

    + Valid Connecticut Driver’s License

    + OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    + Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

    + Strong organizational and time management skills

    + Demonstrate thoroughness and effective follow-through on daily work assignments.

    + Display motivation and interest in improving the quality of life for the population served.

    + Demonstrate and maintain an optimistic attitude, patience, and compassion for and with the population served.

    + Demonstrate appropriate boundaries with residents and coworkers, maintaining a professional demeanor while in the workplace.

    + Flexible hours/weekends, and evenings

    COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

    Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); Outlook; and other general office equipment. The ability to work with and understand databases is a must.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    + The employee will be engaged in speaking, sitting, walking, driving, listening, and communicating both orally and in writing while performing his or her duties.

    + The employee will use their hands to operate a computer terminal, open and close file drawers, make telephone calls, etc.

    + The employee must be able to listen and respond to questions and instructions.

    + Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

    + Be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift at least 50 pounds or ¼ of own body weight, push/pull against potential resistance, be able to implement non-physical and physical interventions, and perform CPR with people supported when needed.
