Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Circulation and User Services Manager , participate in the daily activities of the circulation/reserve desks, assist in the management of student assistants, prepare materials to be placed on reserve, physically maintain library collections, and assist library users with a variety of information and technical questions.

Education/Skills Requirements

A high school diploma or GED equivalent and some college (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Applicants must possess outstanding interpersonal, supervisory, customer service, and written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary. Familiarity with Microsoft Office required.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Required: One year of library, customer service or related experience. Preferred: Experience working at a library’s circulation desk and with an automated circulation system; experience in supervision and training. The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal history background check.

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is a casual, part-time, non-benefit eligible position working less than 19 hours/week.

Standard administrative hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.

Library hours extend to 12:00am when classes are in session.
