    Required Education/Experience

    + High School Diploma/GED and 2 years Design Work Experience or

    + Associate's Degree In Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology

    Relevant Work Experience

    + Selected applicants must have knowledge of electrical theory and/or mechanics of flow, and must be able to perform technical calculations, prepare and interpret technical construction drawings and specifications, and cost estimates.

    + Selected candidates will also demonstrate computer skills, preferably in Excel, Access, Word, AutoCAD/ Microstation or comparable programs.

    + Applicants must possess good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent drafting and writing skills are required.

    + Technical experience in Drafting, Engineering Inspector, Field Inspector, drawing checker or field estimator is preferred. Knowledge of NYC standard water, sewer and highway specifications is also preferred. Location of job assignment is based on workload within the department (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Westchester).

    Physical Demands

    + Must sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for entire shift

    + Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to use hands for entire shift

    + Must stand to use operate office equipment for entire shift

    Additional Physical Demands

    + Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.

    + Use of personal vehicle for company business may be required.

    + Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

    + This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, working on computers and may require driving company vehicles, conducting field walks, and some lifting.
