• Lead Heavy Equipment Operator

    Waste Connections (St. Cloud, FL)


    We are looking for a **Lead Equipment Operator** to join the team at **JED Landfill in Saint Cloud, Florida** . Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge _plus._

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Perform general labor duties around Landfill

    + Work in all weather conditions

    + Executes precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company and OSHA standards and regulations.

    + Will be required to operate various equipment; compactors, dozers, graders, tractors, backhoes, front-end loaders, dump trucks, etc. as needed.

    + Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with the company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.

    + Assists in overseeing personnel needs of the site including coaching, training and evaluating employee performance.

    + Assigning employees and equipment to facilitate task completion

    + Interacts with Landfill customers to ensure customer satisfaction and improve efficiency

    + Perform general labor duties around Landfill

    + Work in all weather conditions

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

    + The work environment is an outdoor landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    + Must have 2+ years of heavy equipment operator experience

    + Must have valid Driver's License

    + Must be able to Read and Write

    + Requires basic math skills – add, subtract, multiply, and divide

    + Must have basic computer skills to email and scan documents

    + Will be required to analyze a repeating situation and make basic decisions

    + Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly
