Overview
Provides regulatory compliance support and engineering technical support for all aspects of the protection system related to transmission systems focused on North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) reliability standards.
This position can be located in Louisville or Lexington, KY based on the candidate's preference.
The position will be filled based on the successful candidates experience and background: Engineer I, II, III or Principal.
Responsibilities
• Monitor and track compliance related activities associated with applicable NERC CIP regulatory standards.
• Develop necessary Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets for audits both external and internal.
• Develop and conduct annual training on applicable NERC Standards.
• Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in NERC audits and industry groups as necessary.
• Assist in the creation and update of policies, procedures, and processes to ensure reliability standards are met.
• Conducts self-certification for CIP standards.
• Develops and audits internal controls.
• Develop and maintain compliance procedures for all applicable CIP requirements to include vulnerability assessments, patching procedures patch management, anti-virus and malware procedures, and other security software or firmware updates, et al.
• Acts as liaison with the Corporate Compliance Department.
• Administer the user accounts for Transmission Medium Impact CIP security gateways. Support the management and security of Internet Protocol connected Transmission equipment.
• Performs Protection & Control design work as assigned.
• Participate in industry groups as necessary.
• Other regulatory compliance activities as assigned.
• Visits Transmission Substations for Compliance Vulnerability Assessments, NERC CIP Audits, and other tasks as required.
• Perform a variety of routine tasks that will improve the individual’s familiarization with the engineering methods, practices, and programs of the company’s transmission planning & substations organization.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
ABET Accredited degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Transmission substation protection and/or relay settings experience preferred.
Educational background and coursework in power systems preferred.

Remote Work
The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change.
