    Job Description / Qualifications

    Job Summary

    Responsible for managing the Sales and Operations of the Parts and Service Departments, including any associates working in the department. Responsible for creating alignment between the Parts and Service Departments. Ensures the Parts and Service Departments operate at maximum efficiency and profitability.

    Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

    **•** Manages the Parts and Service work order process as well as associates involved in the process.

    **•** Manages and develops internal and external relationships with customers as well as vendors.

    **•** Drives Parts and Service Sales and directs all Parts and Service salespeople (if applicable) to do the same, meanwhile monitoring margin and sales growth.

    **•** Manages and monitors Service Technicians' efficiency daily and by the job to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability is achieved.

    **•** Collaborates with Parts Inventory Analyst to ensure parts availability for counter customers as well as the Service Department.

    **•** Ensures daily cycle count is completed, and organization bin locations are maintained in parts rooms and warehouse areas. Ensures Parts showroom space is clean and well stocked.

    + Ensures that work is performed consistently with company policies and procedures.

    + Leads a group or team of support, craft, or lower level professional associates.

    Work Environment

    + Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

    + Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

    + Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

    Education and Experience

    + Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

    JOB DESCRIPTION – Lead Mechanic/ Shop Coordinator

    Position Summary

    This lead position will be responsible for increasing the levels of customer service by performing preventive maintenance, customer repairs, and all other repairs on equipment within the area of responsibility as required in the most effective and economical way to eliminate equipment failure at the customer location. Specific duties will include managing a high performing service and repair team by diagnosing complex equipment issues and troubleshooting within the compliance of all Safety/Company Policy and Procedures.

    Essential Duties:

    + Manage the daily operation of the repair shop under guidance of Rental & Repair Manager.

    + Ensure rental equipment fleet is always ‘rental ready’. (i.e., thoroughly inspected upon return from previous customer rental and prior to the next scheduled rental.)

    + Manage online digital directory of return files.

    + Ensure the safety, organization and cleanliness of the repair shop while engaging the shop team in the process.

    + Advise customers on repairs and parts purchases both via phone and in person.

    + Provide excellent customer service by completing all jobs on schedule, on time, and communicating effectively with the customer on updates or any issues.

    + Manage all 3rd party repair process.

    + Other duties assigned by Rental & Repair Manager.

    General Duties:

    + Communicates effectively and professionally with internal/external customers and all company personnel.

    + Handles pressure well and can prioritize conflicting needs proactively while meeting deadlines effectively.

    + Follows company safety rules and regulations.

    Working Conditions:

    The work is performed within a repair shop and distribution warehouse environment. The working environment can be distracting due to loud noise. The workplace is dusty and noisy. The environment is subject to climate changes and fluctuating temperatures.

    Performance Requirements:

    The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairs, outstanding communication, diagnostic skills, and ability to collaborate well in a team environment. Must demonstrate high energy, flexibility and embrace working in a fluid environment. Ability to handle stress well, strong decision-making skills and desire to grow within the company. Must be proficient with technology. Be able to continually stand, bend, lift and move material up to 75 lbs. On occasion repairs in the field may be required.

     

    Education: HS Diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework is preferred.

     

    Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a lead shop mechanic within a small repair shop or construction supply industry.

     

    Certificate/License: Must have a valid driver’s license.
