The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of assistant professor. Employment begins with the Spring or Fall 2026 semester. We are seeking someone to teach undergraduate courses in applied mental health (for example Psychology of Adjustment, Psychological Interviewing, Behavior Modification, etc.). Area of expertise is open.
Responsibilities for the position include:
+ teaching primarily undergraduate courses, with the possibility of teaching graduate courses in the area of expertise,
+ conducting and publishing scholarly research,
+ advising undergraduate students,
+ serving on department, college, and university committees
+ other duties as assigned.
The Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a master's program in clinical psychology, an EdS in school psychology, and a PsyD in applied psychology. The Department of Psychology is housed in the collaborative College of Education and Behavioral Sciences which has programs in teacher education, counseling, educational leadership and administration, military sciences, and more.

Job Requirements:
Applicants must have an earned doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology with a background in mental health or a closely related field by the posted start date.
