    Job Description

    The Quality Manager role is based out of Brooklyn, OH and reports to the Plant Manager. The Quality Manager provides overall leadership for Quality within the facility. Key responsibilities include driving the Strategic Quality Plan at the operational level, defining, and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure our continued success in the deployment of the Danfoss Business System. Development of short- and long-range strategic business plans for the site to align our resources to meet future customer needs and drive superior operating results.

    Job Responsibilities

    Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

     

    + Deploy robust quality plan at the operational level in conjunction with aligning to the divisional group strategy to provide overall quality leadership to the site.

    + Transform the organization from one focused on conventional detection and containment to one focused on best-in-class prevention.

    + Provide support in total quality leadership focusing on all aspects related to customers, suppliers, business partners, and the other support service functions such as Materials, Mfg. Engineering, Information Technologies, and other division resources.

    + Manage the site quality to facilitate continuous production of products consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

    + Implement systems and processes that deliver improvement toward 100% conformance to customer requirements.

    + Drive rigorous metrics related to the BSC to evaluate performance and drive reduction in variability/defects in critical business processes.

    + Develop systems for managing supplier performance. Provide Quality interface, expertise and support to the organization’s suppliers and partners.

    + Build relationships with other Division and Corporate resources to support identification, review, prioritization and execution of key improvement opportunities/projects to drive results.

     

    Background & Skills

    EHS Responsibilities

    + Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

    + Develop and implement safety and environmental policies.

    + Conduct risk assessment and accident investigations.

    + Provide training to employees on health and safety practices.

    Qualifications

    Required (basic) qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.

    + Minimum five (5) years of experience in an operations or manufacturing environment.

    + Minimum two (2) years of experience with managing direct reports. Direct managerial experience within Operations or Manufacturing environment.

    + Travel up to 10%. Potential to be both domestic and international.

    + Advances degrees (or specific degrees if not required above), additional preferred work experiences (supervision/leadership, manufacturing environment, multinational company).

    Preferred qualifications

    + Master’s Degre in Business Administration (or equivalent).

    + ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.
