    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to work on site in Austin, TX and support the strategy and introduction of products based on unique and highly differentiated capabilities of a preeminent foundry for semiconductor systems and defense electronics companies. Their mission is to advance the state-of-the-art in critical semiconductor domains such as advanced packaging, and in the process to help restore U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing. They are developing cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing technology that will define future roadmaps of semiconductor devices including logic, memory, 3D packaged devices, including thermal management, etc.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop simulation models for semiconductor processes in advanced packaging, including modeling of plate bending mechanics and stress distribution during bonding processes

     

    Experience in multi-physics simulations incorporating fluid mechanics, work of adhesion, process dynamics (pressure, force etc.), thermomechanical coupling

     

    Hands-on experience of major FEM tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, COMSOL, etc)

     

    Proficiency with numerical simulation software tools and expert in MATLAB and/or Scientific Python

     

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate simulation results, present ideas, design concepts, data, and plan with high confidence at team meetings

     

    Collaborate with other engineers (e.g., process, design, and manufacturing) to optimize bonding parameters, validate simulations with experimental data and ensure seamless integration of simulation results into the overall development cycle

     

    Document methodologies, results, and recommendations for process improvement and technology development

    Skills and Requirements

    5 + years of experience of professional engineering experience within the Semiconductor industry

    2 + years of recent experience as a Modeling & Simulation Engineer

     

    Experience with fluid dynamics and layers

     

    Experience with wafer level modeling

     

    Experience with plate mechanics

     

    Bachelor's/ Masters degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering , Electrical engineering or related field. Experience within advanced packaging

     

    PhD or Masters degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering , Electrical engineering or related field. null
