Description
Selling Partner Solution Provider Services is seeking a customer-obsessed Senior User Experience(UX) Designer to define, articulate, and champion the future design of exceptional experiences for developers building on behalf of Amazon selling partners. In this role, you will shape the future of how developers interact with our tools, APIs, documentation, and integrations. You’ll work at the intersection of UX, engineering, and product to simplify complex workflows, enhance self-service, and drive adoption among technical users.
This role is for someone who can balance systems thinking with attention to detail, and who thrives in environments that require strategic design, technical fluency, and hands-on execution.
The ideal candidate approaches challenges with clarity and empathy, inspires others, and is driven to solve problems at a massive scale. As a hands-on creative leader, you will establish a vision and strategy, always putting the needs of our customers first.
Key job responsibilities
•Lead the end-to-end UX strategy for developer-facing products including SDKs, APIs, CLIs, sandbox environments, and onboarding flows.
• Design intuitive, performant, and scalable experiences for technical users—from API explorers to error handling flows to developer dashboards.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to shape the product roadmap and define design priorities that align with business goals.
• Define and elevate design standards for developer tools, incorporating accessibility, usability, and performance best practices.
• Mentor and guide UX designers and researchers, fostering a strong developer-first design culture across teams.
• Advocate for developer empathy by engaging with real users through usability testing, feedback channels, and community forums. Stay current on emerging technology and industry trends.
• Contribute to our design system, ensuring that components and patterns scale effectively for technical interfaces.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders, including product managers, docs writers, business development, and customer support.
About the team
The Selling Partner Solution Provider Services team provides a world-class developer experience that allows Amazon and external partners to innovate rapidly on behalf of our customers. We provide solution providers inside and outside of Amazon a comprehensive API suite, tooling, and a self-service onboarding experience to simplify the development of apps that allow selling partners to achieve success and scale.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
- Bachelors Degree
- 3+ years designing developer-focused experiences (APIs, SDKs, dashboards, etc.)
- Proven ability to create developer-friendly interfaces that are technically complex but visually simple.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and exceptional design execution for SaaS or developer platforms.
- Experience with user research, especially with technical audiences.
- Expert proficiency in design tools (Figma, etc.) and design systems.
- Deep understanding of developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, and common development environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence without authority. Experience presenting complex design concepts to executive leader
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience designing API documentation or interactive API explorers.
- Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger, GraphQL, OAuth, or developer authentication flows.
- Familiarity with GenAI/LLM concepts and productivity tools (Figma AI, Stitch, etc.)
- Background in computer science, front-end engineering, or developer relations is a plus.
- Experience working in fast-paced, agile SaaS environments.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
