**Job** **Tittle** : Mainframe Architect

**LOCATION** : Hartford, CT

• Assess and Strategize: Work with the client's mainframe team to evaluate the current platform, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and modernization.

• Lead Projects: Own and manage assigned mainframe projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery.

• Collaborate: Partner effectively with external vendors and internal technical teams (including DB2 and other database teams) to understand setups and coordinate project activities.

• Optimize Performance: Develop and implement optimization plans for mainframe applications and infrastructure to boost performance and efficiency.

• Innovate & Automate: Drive automation initiatives, including exploring and integrating Generative AI capabilities to enhance mainframe operations.

• Govern & Report: Lead governance activities and weekly calls, providing clear project updates and aligning on strategic direction.

• Deep Dive Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of mainframe and storage environments to pinpoint bottlenecks and opportunities.

Expert-level proficiency in:

• Mainframe Core: IBM z/OS, Mainframe DB2 & Storage, CICS.

• Security: RACF, CBAC.

• Service Models: Mainframe as a Service (MaaS) concepts.

Solid working knowledge (medium proficiency) in:

• Development: COBOL, JCL.

• Utilities: Various mainframe utilities.

• SCM Tools: CA Endevor, Rocket LCM.

• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to assess complex mainframe environments and propose effective solutions.

• Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to lead discussions, influence stakeholders, and present technical information clearly.

• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate teams and external partners.

Required skills:

• Mainframe DB2 & Storage, Mainframe CICS, CBAC, RACF, Mainframe as a service ( **Expert** ).

• Mainframe Utilities & Mainframe Cobol, JCL, Zos, Endeavor, LCM ( **medium** ).

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $130,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
