**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a RF/Field Technician in our **Hughes Network Systems** division. This key individual will work as part of a team in our facility in **North Las Vegas (NLV), Nevada** .

Responsibilities:

+ Preventive and corrective maintenance for the 30+ Jupiter sites across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America.

+ Assist in maintaining the spare pool of hardware for the Jupiter product lines. This inventory is based out of the Detroit hub location and this individual will work closely with the Detroit personnel on aspects of the field service operation.

+ Assist in developing, updating and keeping reference material as needed.

Field Responsibilities:

+ Oversee installation, testing, operations, and maintenance of satellite earth station equipment

+ Operate and maintain all mechanical and electrical elements of the Teleport.

+ Assume responsibility for escalation and emergency response requests in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment. Occasional work required during maintenance windows, outside of normal working hours.

+ Monitor power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and local security and monitoring systems.

+ Maintain equipment inventory and configuration management records, including software releases, patches, etc. Ensure compliance with applicable standards

+ Travel could be up to 50% or more on any given month and flexibility is a must

Basic Requirements:

+ Must have 3+ years of related experience

+ Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, U.S. National or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials.

Essential Qualifications:

+ Climb ladders to heights of up to 20 feet

+ Carry equipment up to 70 pounds

+ Work and manage in a 24 x 7 x 365 work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Self-motivated and independent.

+ Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, customer relations, written and oral communication skills.

+ Satellite Earth station RF equipment installation and maintenance experienceExpertise with all aspects of telecom transmission facilities, infrastructure, and circuit termination equipment

+ Experience with LAN/WAN industry standards, and working knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet configuration and functionality

+ Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems

+ Experience with Cisco, HNS, CATV/IPTV and other Telco and IP protocol core network and equipment

+ Basic electronics troubleshooting skills (ability to use and interpret readings from a range of test equipment including spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, power meter, DVM etc.)

+ Responsibilities and duties may evolve and expand, therefore flexibility and adaptation are important skills

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
