Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.
Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a **_Central Characterization Program_** **_Training Specialist_** and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will implement the administrative and technical aspects of the Central Characterization Program (CCP) Training and Qualification Program using the Department of Energy (DOE) Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), as required by DOE O 426.2, and applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). This role is essential in supporting workforce performance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence in a highly technical and safety-conscious work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Ensure all training products meet or exceed applicable Orders, Standards, and Procedures.
+ Apply the DOE SAT process to develop and maintain effective technical and professional training programs.
+ Utilize the ADDIE model to manage all phases of instructional design, from analysis to evaluation.
+ Conduct Job Tasks Analysis (JTA), needs assessments, and training program evaluations.
+ Develop engaging and technically accurate training materials, including lesson plans, trainee guides, evaluation tools, and OJT performance measures.
+ Facilitate training sessions, including classroom and virtual training sessions.
+ Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME), management, and training peers, to ensure content is accurate, effective, and in alignment with operational and mission needs.
+ Maintain accurate training documentation in accordance with quality assurance and records management requirements.
Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of training/education experience, or
+ Associate’s degree with seven (7) years of training/education experience, or
+ High School Diploma or Equivalency with eleven (11) years of training/education experience is required.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Requirements
+ BS/BA in Training and Development or Education
+ CCP, DOE or WIPP experience
+ Demonstrated experience applying DOE SAT or ADDIE
+ Classroom instructor experience
+ Web-Based Training (WBT) experience

Exempt grade level(s) 28-32. Minimum salary $69,444 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
