    Overview

     

    Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

     

    Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a **_Instructor_** and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

    Responsibilities

    Instructors must be qualified to perform their duties on topics, subject matter, and equipment for which they have the experience with the material being presented. They are responsible to teach and evaluate to the standards as presented in TRG-300, Classroom Instructor Level II, or equivalent.

     

    Instructors who are responsible for instruction on subjects such as TSRs must have successfully completed training on facility operating characteristics and principles, and operating limits (Safety Limits, Limiting Control Settings, and Limiting Conditions for Operation) and their bases or have had significant involvement in writing the TSRs. Instructors must have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor or equivalent training, or experience approved by the training manager. Instructors must have knowledge and/or expertise for the material being presented.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with six (6) years of work experience, or

    + Associate’s degree in a related discipline with ten (10) years of work experience, or

    + High School Diploma or Equivalency with fourteen (14) years of work experience is required.

    + Five (5) years of DOE work, WIPP, Facility Operations, Safety, and/or Training/Instructor experience is required.

     

    _Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information._

    Exempt grade level(s) 30-34. Minimum salary $80,609 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
