    Blank Children’s Hospital

     

    Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.

     

    + Established team of 1 physician and 4 Advanced Practitioners

    + Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic with some rounding and consults in the hospital

    + Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access

    + Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

    + Clinical track faculty appointment with the University of Iowa

    + Fully accredited CF center

    + Multidisciplinary CF clinic

    + Fully equipped flexible bronchoscopy and laryngoscopy, exercise testing, and pulmonary function lab

    Responsibilities

    + Average of 15 patients per day

    + Teaching and research opportunities - our residency program is fully accredited by the ACGME and offers seven categorical positions each year

    + Shared call amongst the providers. Currently 1:4

    + Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient

    + Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

    + In-office consults

    + Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment

    + Opportunity for expansion in our asthma center

    Qualifications

    + MD or DO

    + Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonology

    + Prefer Board Certified in Sleep Medicine

    + Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa

    + Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

    + Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)

    + J-1 waiver sponsorship available
