UnityPoint Health – Meriter offers community-based inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs for children and adolescents in South Central Wisconsin. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) serves young people ages 6-18 with severe behavioral health challenges such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and self-harming behaviors.

The treatment team includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, licensed psychotherapists, occupational and recreational therapists, social workers, mental health specialists and certified teachers.

+ PRN/Weekend call and onsite coverage of the inpatient service.

+ Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

+ PRN Weekend call and onsite coverage of the inpatient service.

+ Inpatient volume: 4 – 6 patients

+ Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve

+ Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care

+ Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment

+ Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

+ MD or DO

+ Board Certified in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry

+ Experienced Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist

+ Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Wisconsin

+ Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

+ Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
