JOB TITLE: Software Engineer II

DUTIES: Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, ensuring clean and efficient code. Design and optimize MongoDB schemas, implementing efficient queries and aggregation pipelines. Deploy and manage applications on AWS, utilizing services like EC2, S3, SQS, and Lambda. Implement security best practices in AWS, including IAM roles and access control. Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews to ensure quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile processes, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning. Document technical specifications, codebases, and systems architecture for future reference. Lead the design of scalable applications, creating technical specifications and design documents. Optimize existing applications for performance, including caching, load balancing, and auto-scaling. Stay updated with the latest technologies in Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS, proposing innovations where applicable. Mentor new/junior team members and help them understand the existing application/system. Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to enrich all team members with system information. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and front-end engineers to deliver seamless, scalable solutions.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include the following:

+ 5 years in Software Development with a focus on managing backend and API services;

+ 2 years with Javascript, Angular, Nodejs, Typescript;

+ 2 years with AWS;

+ 2 years with Mongodb;

+ 1 year with Java; and

+ 1 year with JIRA, Confluenece
